Almost exactly 1 week from this moment we will be at the settlement table... crazy how fast this process has gone especially since the point when lumber was first delivered to our site. We have our inspection the same morning as our settlement. Logistics are becoming a fun challenge as we are figuring out ways to have appliances delivered, Verizon Fios installed, moving trucks picked up, storage units cleared out and 2 kids taken care of at the same time.
So many things to buy but it is very cool to basically "start over" with our brand new home. We have made a few purchases, the highlight being our new dining room table from West Elm:
We wanted a sectional and lucked out that our existing couch from Raymour Flanigan can actually be combined with other components to make a sectional that will fit in our family room.... so that is the route we are going. Need to pick out an accent chair, curtains and all sorts of other fun stuff as well.
Finally, spoke to our PM today.... everything is done at this point. Asphalt was poured and they are going to be doing the final cleaning on Monday.
If anyone has input/feedback on lessons learned from the pre-settlement inspection please don't be shy.

Santa Cecelia is Looking Good!
We've been waiting for the granite to come in b/c we felt it would tie the entire kitchen together. I was a little fearful that the Santa Cecelia would be too close to the creamy color of the cabinets, but there is plenty of dark tones and contrast there so I am relieved. We love the way the kitchen has turned out, plus the range was there so we were thrilled to see that in place.
Our mailbox was also installed! We paid so much attention to the mailbox that we didn't even realize that we had some shrubs out front. The lawn was seeded and covered in hay. Asphalt should be next week and the sink will be installed and water in the house will be turned on for the first time.
11 days and counting...

3 Weeks Out!
So the only really big milestone left to hit is the granite... that should be in sometime next week. Our hardwood is in downstairs and carpeting is everywhere except the family room (where we have different carpet than in the rest of the house). Loved the stain of the bannisters and the stairs which are to match our hardwood floors. Also loved the front of the house now that it is complete with a Red door and columns! All of the electrical outlets/switches/covers were in place today... and all of the interior doors were painted. Counting down the days until 3/29!!!

PM called on Tuesday with so many updates, we cannot wait to make it down to the house to see them all.... we were lucky enough to get a photo of the exterior with all of the stone done! When we go on Saturday we are going to see cabinets, flooring in the bath, ceramic tile, molding.... the house is really coming along. Settlement and our inspection were confirmed for 3/29!!!

Locked In and Siding Underway
Officially locked in! When we started this process I felt like it would take forever to get to this point, we got a great rate and are getting so close now.
Our PM told us to come down on Friday to check out the siding but we wanted to get a preview...
